How to prepare yourself to achieve:
Setting goals; Do you know what you want to achieve when you enter a Gym or Fitness Center? Research confirms that, those who are certain about what they want to accomplish are up to six times more likely to make life changes than those who are less certain. These people are happy successful, highly achieving people. On the flip side; those who have conflicting goals, or those who are ambivalent about their goals, are significantly more like to:
-Experience depression and anxiety;
-Be less happy and less satisfied with their lives;
-Have more physical illnesses and doctor’s visits;
-Be indecisive, uncertain and rebellious;
-Be easily distracted and procrastinate;
-Spend more time thinking about their goals; and
-Spend less time taking action toward their goals.
This serves true in and outside of the gym. The difference between being healthy and unhealthy, fit or out of shape, rich or poor is knowing what you want to achieve, setting goals and doing whatever it takes to achieve them! Anything less will result in excuses, failure and ultimately lead to the physical and psychological problems I listed above.
In the fitness arena, some of the most common excuses are “I’m just not built that way” ,”I don’t have time”, "I cant afford it”. Trust me, there are hundreds more. Your success and your health is your responsibility. No one else's. The resources are available to everyone. Successful people know what they want from life. Their lives are characterized by a sense of passion, purpose, and meaning. They will not stop short of achieving their goals and keep a positive outlook even when faced with adversity. I challenge you to decide what you want, set goals and get the help you need. Thats the only way to succeed!!!!!
